I-TRACK (International Tracking Standard Foundation) are the global leader in energy and material tracking standards. As a non-profit and governing body for energy standardisation,
I-TRACK are a crucial element to ensuring credible systems in the energy sector.


Why a brand shift?
A brand shift was necessary for the company’s expansion beyond electricity into many new energy and material standards, ensuring that all energy is trackable, traceable and credible.
A brand repositioning was necessary to reflect this evolution of transparency across the market.
We delivered a new name, I-TRACK (formerly I-REC), a brand system, and a bank of product logos for the foundation and its partners.

Quick identification through colour
Colour became a key solution for the product logos, enabling quick visual categorisation whilst symbolising the broad spectrum of certified energy types. The varied palette reflects both current and anticipated products, ensuring long-term scalability.

Turning a logomark into a product code system


Horizontal and vertical product logos were necessary to account for the wide variety of use cases in which the logos will appear and to provide greater flexibility for those using them, including issuers, stakeholders, and governing bodies.
Each product logo needed to be distinguishable from the others, yet consistent with its core logo.
For the vertical logo, I used one of the 'florette' arms to create a broken circle that holds the product acronym, as though tracing a path from one source to another.
The horizontal logo is a balanced lockup between the core logo and the product acronym, representing I-TRACK'S work to ensure unbiased access to energy product information.
